Feedback from M. Legros on his use of miscanthus as bedding for suckler cattle.
We took part in the "Miscanthus en litière" training course - organized by ADASEA 87 - during which we visited the GAEC de chez Massiat, which uses miscanthus for its suckler cattle herd.
The GAEC is in Limousin selection and regularly presents animals of excellent quality. Mr. Legros gave us a tour of the breeding and storage buildings, designed and thought out to optimize breeding, which were a source of rich exchanges between breeders. We also saw the miscanthus plots to be planted in 2019. The miscanthus produced on the farm will enable us to achieve a certain degree of bedding autonomy.
