In Morbihan: protecting water resources with miscanthus - an initial experience-sharing meeting.

A look back at the last technical meeting of 2024, in Morbihan, organized by the Syndicat Mixte du Grand Bassin de l'Oustin Carentoir (56). The meeting dealt with a subject we regularly work on with local players: protecting water resources in water catchment areas, by creating territorial projects with farmers.

Program:
- Presentation of water issues in the basins, by SMGBO
- Presentation of miscanthus as a BNI crop, by Novabiom
- Dominique Brulé's enthusiastic feedback, BREIZH Miscanthuswho has planted 23 ha of miscanthus in 2019 and 2020 in Morbihan. He uses all his miscanthus directly, locally, in several markets: litter, mulch, insulation for eco-construction.
- And last but not least, exchanges around the table, with participants from diverse backgrounds, from livestock farming to cereal growing.

Many thanks to Marc Roger, agri-environmental studies officer, for organizing this half-day event.

The issue of water protection is becoming increasingly important. Feedback from local players is invaluable for planning new crops.

The best miscanthus ambassadors: those who work actively to promote miscanthus. We'd like to thank them for their participation in meetings and for their time!
