3-month-old plot of miscanthus
Very good miscanthus emergence this year, despite difficult weather conditions during planting. A total of 120 farms planted 900 ha of miscanthus in 2024.

The team of agronomists accompanies every farmer with a plantation project:

- beforehand, we come and meet you on site and visit the plots;

- we are present at the planting launch;

- and we return a few weeks after planting for agronomic follow-up.

The field tours between July and September are a very exciting time: farmers are reassured by the results of the planting stage, and can look forward to adding value to their crops. As soon as it stands on its own, miscanthus is established and becomes a hardy crop.

This year, planting took place between early April and mid-August. Favourable planting conditions are more important than the planting date. Miscanthus is well established and will catch up.

Beautiful 3-month plot, managed organically, with mechanical weeding. Weed control during the summer is an important condition for good plant establishment. Late weediness in September is less damaging.

In September, the plots are dense and the miscanthus plants have developed well. The rhizome enables rapid establishment of the rhizosphere, making the plants resistant to climatic hazards (summer drought and winter frost), weed competition and soil pests.

We generally plant at 20,000 rh/ha, which gives us a safety margin to manage risks such as wireworms, drought and difficult soil preparation. It's important to reduce risks during the planting phase and maintain a high planting density of 20,000 rh/ha.

On these two plots (3 months old), wireworm and weed management is good, and the weather is favorable. Emergence is very good.
