Miscanthus Project in the Beauvais Urban Community – Phase 1
Miscanthus Project in the Beauvais Urban Community
The Beauvaisis Urban Community (CAB) is launching a major project with the creation of a second district heating network in the municipalities of Beauvais, Tillé, and Allonne.
This spring, the CAB signed a 30-year contract with Dalkia, which will build the network and then supply the energy.
The three key elements needed to tackle this large-scale project:
– geothermal energy
– wood
– and miscanthus
A few months ago, following the bidding process, Novabiom responded to the various energy companies that had submitted bids for the miscanthus supply portion of the project.
Dalkia has been awarded and has signed a contract with the CAB for the construction and management of the district heating network. We have therefore signed a contract between Novabiom and Dalkia
For several months now, we have been working closely with local farmers and the CAB’s Environment and Water Protection departments, the Oise Chamber of Agriculture and theSeine-Normandy Water Agency to establish miscanthus plantations in the urban area’s priority water recharge and catchment zones, with the aim of protecting water resources.
We are currently finalizing contracts with the farmers involved to begin implementing the project.
At the same time, farmers are in the process of setting up a joint marketing organization.
The miscanthus that will fuel the CAB's boiler room will therefore generate heat and help conserve water resources.
We are proud and delighted that this project has come to fruition.
This project was made possible by the genuine and sincere commitment of the various stakeholders and a truly high-quality collaborative effort.
